This is an analysis of the painting/drawing and of two "monumental" visual texts, BATTLEFIELDLIST/CHAMPDEBATAILLE, by the contemporary woman artist/poet Cozette de Charmoy, for whom the image of the battlefield has remained central since the 1970s. The article draws out the internal structures of her work with reference to the legacy of European cultural production concerned with war, and within a theoretical framework of war and culture studies on gender and the body.
